John
Madden is the Managing Partner of Sequel Holdings, L.P. Over the past
15 years, he has worked in various capacities with J.C. Bradford &
Co., Bankers Trust Company, and Dean Foods Company (NYSE: DF) and its
affiliated companies (Kaminski Engles Capital Corporation, Engles Management
Corporation, Suiza Foods Corporation and Reddy Ice Corporation). Mr.
Madden has held senior management positions including Vice President
and Treasurer of Suiza Foods, Chief Financial Officer of Reddy Ice,
and Vice President of Corporate Development of Suiza Foods and Dean
Foods.
He was actively
involved in the growth of Dean Foods from the company’s initial
dairy acquisition in Puerto Rico in 1993 to its acquisition of legacy
Dean Foods Company in 2001. When Mr. Madden joined Kaminski Engles Capital
in 1990, the portfolio companies had approximately $50 million in sales.
When he resigned from Dean Foods in 2002, the company had sales of approximately
$9 billion.
Mr. Madden received
a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and human development from
Vanderbilt University in 1988. Prior to joining Mr. Kaminski and Mr.
Engles in 1990, he worked as a financial analyst in New York with Bankers
Trust. He earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University
of Dallas while working at Suiza Foods.
Mr. Madden is a
partner of Dallas Social Venture Partners and a member of the Touchdown
Club serving the Dallas Rise School. Until recently, he served on the
Board of Worth, Inc. and was on the Alumni Board of Peabody College
at Vanderbilt University.
