J&J Family of Farms, based in Loxahatchee, FL, and Thomas Produce Company, based in Boca Raton, FL, have entered into a strategic relationship that combines their respective farming volumes and leverages J&J’s sales and marketing capabilities.  With the Thomas Produce volume, J&J Family of Farms now sells high quality produce from a total of 14,000 acres of farmed land in the U.S. and Mexico. As part of the transaction, Thomas Produce has become a shareholder in J&J Holdings, resulting in a complete alignment and partnership in all aspects of J&J’s business.

In addition, Stephen (Steve) Thomas, CFO of Thomas Produce, has joined J&J Holdings’ Board of Directors and Steve Thomas and Thomas LaSalle, General Manager of Thomas Produce, will join J&J’s sales and marketing advisory committee.

“This transaction marks a significant milestone for J&J, forging our path as a leader in the industry.  As partners with Thomas Produce, we have added scale to our business, and are better positioned to serve our customers with additional value added programs while accelerating our shared commitment to excel in food safety, social responsibility and best farming practices,” said Lynn Rundle, Chairman of the Board and CEO of J&J.

“We are excited to become a shareholder in J&J Holdings and partner in the business with Sequel Holdings, the owners of J&J” said Steve Thomas.  Norman Thomas, CEO of Thomas Produce, commented “we feel the Thomas family farming legacy and best practices established by our father John Thomas, and continuing now into the 3rd generation of family members, is best continued and strengthened for the future through this combination with J&J.”
